Abstract (EN)

In the last 25-30 years, terrorist organizations have made changes in their types of actions and mainly used mines and Improvısed Explosıve Devıce (IEDs) in their actions. Since such attacks are relatively easy to execute, explosives are difficult to find by friendly elements, and these actions cause significant losses, the issues of finding and neutralizing mines and hand-made explosives have become very important today. In this study, two different applications, computer-aided serious game application and virtual reality application, were prepared in order to contribute to the training of the elements fighting against mines and IED. In the first application, the training of detector operators was taken into consideration, and they were asked to search for explosives in the field using a mine detector on the computer. In the second application, all the personnel on duty were taken into consideration and they were asked to visually detect the signs of explosives placed in the field. In the second application, virtual reality technologies were used. After the preparations (modeling, animation, etc.) made before both applications were transferred into the Unity game engine, the operations such as determining the player controls, editing the models, preparing the user interface, adding visual and sound effects, coding the relations between the components were carried out in the Unity game engine. In addition, different task types and scenes were prepared according to the determined need. In the first application, the user is asked to show how to search with the detector and how to intervene in the signal coming from the detector. In the second application, all personnel on duty are asked to search for signs using Oculus Rift branded virtual reality glasses. In this application, personnel are required to visually detect explosive substances and signs placed in the field without any contact. It is considered that the continuation of similar studies will contribute to the training of personnel, especially those working in the defense sector. Considering the training of the staff and the cost, similar applications are considered to be cost effective solutions
