Abstract (EN)

Planococcus ficus (Vineyard mealybug) is an important pest species found in South Africa, Mediterranean geography, Middle East, Argentina, California and Mexico vineyard areas. Vineyard mealybug can cause serious damage in vineyard areas in many countries of the world. In addition to the direct damage it causes to the harmful plant, it causes fumagin to decrease the product quality and decrease the market value. Insecticide applications are mostly carried out in summer against these pests. Insecticide applications are not very successful due to the fact that the pest is under the bark, it is more common in vineyard leaves and bunches, and because of its biology. It is important to determine their biology, distribution, how they are affected by temperature and humidity in order to be able to effectively control the vineyard mealybug. The pest has caused significant damage in the vineyard areas of Elazig province in recent years. Different insecticides are used in the fight against this pest, and the success of the control varies according to the period of the drug used. In addition, the drugs used to combat this pest have harmful effects on natural enemies. In this study, repellent and acute toxicity effects of Wood Vinegar (OS) and Hazelnut Vinegar (FS) in pest control were determined. Study; It was carried out in a vineyard area in Koruk village of Elazig province between March and October 2022. As a result of the study, it was determined that wood chicken vinegar was more effective in reducing the pest population than hazelnut vinegar, the pest population decreased as the dose increased in both vinegars, and the decrease in the pest population compared to the negative control was statistically significant. In addition, it was determined that vinegars had a repellent effect in the total of Coccinellidae family species, but this effect was not significant compared to positive control applications. The study brings innovation in terms of combating this pest. The vinegars to be used have been applied in various studies against wheat storage and warehouse pests and almond pests in our country, and this application against vineyard pests offers an innovative agricultural control study. In this study, it is thought that wood and hazelnut vinegar, which is a product of carbonization against this pest, can be an alternative control method for integrated control (IPM) studies against P ficus, which is harmful in vineyard areas.
