Özet (EN)

It refers to the life cycle ecosystem, which is revealed by the natural environmental conditions in a certain area. There are certain rules of this cycle and each life form is in relationship with other living and non-living beings in nature. Therefore, each natural element, which is different from each other, creates diversity with its unique lifestyle. In ecosystem distinction; natural elements affecting the such as climate, topography, parent material, vegetation are considered as criteria. The land and water-covered parts of the world have different natural conditions in every aspect and therefore have different flora and fauna depending on them. Here, the subject of the thesis is the natural environment characteristics in the study area and the relations between species, biomes and the living species seen in these biomes, and biodiversity, within the framework of the specified criteria. However, within the scope of the study, it was prioritized to explain the distribution of vegetation and the connection of other ecologies. In this study, ecosystems, biome areas and biodiversity of Elazig province were evaluated. The forest areas within the provincial borders are composed of sparse, park-like dry forests that have adapted to the semi-arid climatic conditions of the region. The trees that make up this forest formation are oaks (95%) spread almost everywhere, junipers (4%) mixed with them and wild fruit species such as wild cherry, pear (Pyrus communis), almond (Amygdalus communis). Because; It is possible to define the forests in the region as oak forests. Forest areas are seen as dry forests. The most common trees are oak and juniper. The densest forest areas are in the north of Palu, Arıcak and Karakoçan. With the destruction of vegetation, anthropogenic steppe areas are common. It can also be said that Elazig is rich in endemism. The floristic features of Elazig have led to the diversification of the fauna. Bird species can be seen in the high parts of the water edges and mountainous areas, and mammals and wild animals in the forest area. Main animal species such as pigs, wolves, mountain goats (Capra), mice, rabbits, hedgehogs, bears, badgers live in mountainous-forested areas.
