Abstract (EN)
Investigation of the Quality of Work Life in Nurses Working in Elazığ Mental Health Hospital. Considering the effect of quality on patient satisfaction, it is important to examine the quality of work life in healthcare professionals, especially nurses, as it is a structure where the results of working with healthy and qualified patients are taken into account. In the present study, it was aimed to determine the level of quality of work life quality among nurses and the related factors. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 199 nurses working in Elazığ Mental Health Hospital. A questionnaire including the Quality of Nursing Work Life (QNWL) Scale was administered to the nurses under direct observation. 51.3% of the nurses included in the study were female, their mean age was 38.4±8.2, and the QNWL total mean score was 115.0±21.5. The QNWL's subscales and total score were found to be higher for those who were married, had children, had high school/associate degree level of education, were permanent employees, only worked during the day, worked 40-45 hours a week, did not have shifts, did not work overtime, did not want to leave the institution they work, were satisfied with the institution they work, whose ideas were received when making decisions for the institution, those who were satisfied with the social opportunities of the institution, and those whose career goals were met (p<0.05). The QNWL's total score did not show statistically significant differences in terms of gender and unit of work. Additionally, in terms of the perceived economic situation and having shifts, the subscale of relations with managers did not present statistically significant differences in terms of job perceptions of those who worked overtime and those who did not (p>0.05). As a result, the quality of work life of the nurses working in the Mental Health Hospital was found to be above the average in this study. It is thought that the planning and implementation of regulations that can improve nurses' socioeconomic status, health status, work conditions, positive outlook, and approach to the profession can further increase their level of work life quality.
