Examination of Usability Potential of the Rocks Around Elazig as Concrete Aggregate In this study, the aggregate potential of the formations cropped out around Elazığ was investigated. For this purpose, block samples were taken from Keban Metamorphites, Kömürhan Ophiolites, Elazığ Magmatics, Harami Formation, Maden Complex, Seske Formation, Kırkgeçit Formation and Karabakır Formation, and aggregate samples were prepared from these block samples and experimental studies were conducted. Particle size distribution, particle density, water absorption, fine material ratio, MgSO4 soundness, Los Angeles fragmentation resistance, micro-deval abrasion resistance, alkali-silica reactivity, shape index, flatness index, loose bulk density Methylene blue tests, chemical and petrographic analyses were performed by the laboratory studies. In addition, uniaxial compressive strength of rock material was determined. Concrete designs were made using the aggregates that were examined in this study and 28 days uniaxial compressive strength of the designed concrete samples were determined. The results obtained from the experiments were compared with the limit values given in the standards and the aggregate potential of the studied rocks was determined. According to the results of this study, it is unfavorable to use of gabbros of Kömürhan Ophiolites, granites of Elazığ Magmatics, limestones of Seske Formation and basalts of Karabakır Formation as aggregate.
