Abstract (EN)

This research examines the effect of applying the 2D technology-supported learning gallery method in the "Electrical Circuits" unit on the academic success and 21st Century skills of 7th Grade students. The study group of the research was determined by the accessible sampling method. The study was carried out in the 2023-2024 academic year with 45 students studying at the 7th grade level of a secondary school affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, selected from the Western Black Sea region. As a method in the research, a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was used. In the research, the experimental and control groups were created impartially and one group of experimental and one group of control groups were determined. While the teaching process was carried out with the students in the experimental group based on the 2D technology-supported learning gallery method, the teaching process in the control group was carried out without the use of technological devices, adhering to the existing method specified in the science curriculum. Within the scope of the research, "Electrical Circuits Unit Concept Test" and "Comprehensive 21st Century Skills Scale" were applied as pre-test and post-test. At the end of the research process, "Semi-Structured Interview Form" was applied to the experimental group students. In order to reveal the effectiveness of the 2D technology-supported learning gallery method in the research, covariate analysis (ANCOVA) was performed on the "Electrical Circuits Unit Concept Test" and "Comprehensive 21st Century Skills Scale" data collection tools. When ANCOVA analysis is examined; There is a statistically significant difference between the scores of the students in the experimental and control groups in the post-test of the "Electrical Circuits Unit Concept Test" in favor of the experimental group. There are statistically significant differences between the scores of the students in the experimental and control groups in the post-tests of the "Comprehensive 21st Century Skills Scale" for the "Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills" and "Entrepreneurship and Self-Management Skills" factors in favor of the experimental group. There are no statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group between the scores of students in the experimental and control groups in the post-tests of the other factors of the Comprehensive 21st Century Skills Scale. In the applied interview form, students expressed positive and negative opinions and made suggestions about the 2D technology-supported learning gallery method. According to the results obtained, it can be said that the 2D technology-supported learning gallery method increased the academic success of the experimental group students and supported the development of 21st century skills.
