Abstract (EN)

Agriculture sector holds vital importance for humanity in terms of food supply and socio-economic development worldwide. However, agricultural pests cause losses in agricultural production efficiency. To prevent these losses, pesticides are used in combating agricultural pests. The damage to humans and the ecosystem caused by the inappropriate and indiscriminate use of these pesticides is increasing day by day. In order to control this situation, especially in recent times, developed countries have been implementing strict measures by conducting residue analyses on imported agricultural materials. In order to enable farmers to combat agricultural pests at the right time, in the right area, and with the right application, it is crucial to develop innovative technologies that equip them with an early warning system for monitoring agricultural pests in real-time. In this study, a design and manufacturing work has been carried out on an "Electronic Agricultural Pest Detection and Early Warning System" with the aim of informing producers about the current population levels of agricultural pests. In addition to monitoring pest population density, in the study, environmental temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure values have also been recorded approximately every five seconds throughout the day, with the belief that it would contribute to better understanding the etiology of the target pest.
