Abstract (EN)

With the rapid advances in the internet, the ease of internet access, its cheapening and increase in quality have made it easier for people to shop on the internet. This convenience has over time replaced traditional commerce with electronic commerce (e-commerce), which means online shopping. The coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic process, which is a global epidemic in particular, has paved the way for all needs in almost every sector to be fulfilled electronically. The increase in the number of users of mobile devices, the development of technological infrastructures and the ease of use of mobile devices have increased the demand for these devices all over the world. Thus, the growth and development of the volume of mobile commerce (m-commerce), which means shopping via mobile devices, has accelerated unpredictably. In the study, the data between 2014-2019 such as per capita GDP, annual inflation rates, central bank policy interest rates, final interest rates, consumption expenditures, annual fixed and mobile broadband penetration rate, population, data of online shoppers and mobile shoppers of 12 countries (USA, Germany, Brazil, China, France, India, Japan, England, Spain, Poland, Russia, Turkey) are used. The effect of the specified variables on the rate of mobile shoppers was examined. In the beginning, descriptive statistics were made in order to determine the basic properties of the variables. Then, a series of tests such as Cross-Section Dependece (CD), Covariate-Extended Dickey Fuller (CADF), Breusch-Pagan (BP), Breusch-Godfrey (BG) test were applied. As a result of the study, it was seen that the increase in the number of online shoppers and the population increased the rate of mobile shoppers by positively affecting them. It has been determined that fixed broadband penetration and GDP per capita variables negatively affect the rate of mobile shoppers. Keywords: E-commerce, m-commerce, internet, panel data analysis, covid-19.
