A comparative analysis of ?Love? by Elif Şafak and ?Fenix? by Turusbek Madılbay

The preliminary investigation, executed before this study, has shown that the interaction between the literary works in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan has offered the rich analysis opportunities. However, since this subject has required to be studied regarding very different points of view and in the wide thematic range and has extended to the different disciplines, the subject should have been restricted. Therefore, the study area has been restricted by selecting Elif Şafak from Turkey and Turusbek Madılbay from Kyrgyzstan considering their literary styles. Since the said authors had more than one artwork, it has been focused on one work from each author. After it has been read their works which were the best-sellers in the countries where they were published, it has been determined that they showed similarities regarding the subject, style and wording, even if they did not show any similarity regarding their fiction. Based on this determination, it has been decided to recourse the comparative literature which continues to grow like topsy in the global sense. As one followed the trace of this decision, other works that were written in different languages as well as the works in Turkish and Kyrgyz were also studied through the comparative literature. The works have been studied based on these works and the study, which was related to both country?s literatures, was created. In this study which was executed under the light of data from the Comparative Literature and had a qualification contributing to the literature science, the similarities and differences were found in the works of the authors who have lived during the same period but in the different cultures. As a result of study, both works occurred to us as the mirrors of historical development processes and cultural structures of the said societies as being in the other literary texts.
