Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between maximal strength (MS), reactive strength index (RSI) and anaerobic power (AP) in elite greco-roman and freestyle wrestlers. 40 freestyle and 47 grekoromen style wrestlers competing in various sports clubs in Ankara, mean age 21.16 ± 4.32 years, height 173.93 ± 7.16 cm, body weight 80.20 ± 13.88 kg, body mass index 26.42 ± 3.75 kg/m2, sports age 9.49 ± 4.74 years, body fat percentage of 11.50 ± 5.17%, a total of 87 volunteer athletes participated. In the study, anthropometric measurements, RSI, vertical jump, leg strength and grip strength tests were applied to the participants. Independent samples t test was used to determine the difference between styles and pearson and spearman tests were used to determine the relationship between values. According to the results of t tests, it was found that the mean values of MS (absolute, relative and allometric), AP and RSI were not different between the styles. According to the correlation results, there was a significant relationship between MS (relative and allometric) to RSI, and between MS (absolute and allometric) to AP (p <0.05), but no significant correlation was found between AP to RSI (p> 0.05). In greco-roman style wrestlers, while there was a significant relationship (p <0.05) between MS (absolute) to AP (p <0.05), no significant relationship was found between RSI to MS and AP (p> 0.05). In freestyle wrestlers, there was a significant relationship between MS (relative and allometric) to RSI and between MS (absolute) to AP (p <0.05), but no significant relationship was found between AP to RSI (p> 0.05). In conclusion, this study showed that there was no significant difference between the styles of MS, AP and RSI, there was a significant relationship between MS to RSI and AP, but there was no significant relationship between AP and RSI.
