Determination of the yield and quality characteristics of "Redd Chief" apple type in Elmali-Antalya region

In this study, some phenological (foliage, bud burst, beginning of flowering, full flowering, fruit set rates, yield per tree) and pomological parameters (fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight, soluble solid content, acidity and fruit skin color) in 15 years old "Red Chief" apple variety grown on "MM111" rootstock in Elmalı district-Antalya were searched. "MM111" rootstock and pollinator "Golden Redinders" apple were determined to be suitable rootstocks and pollinators for "Red Chief" apple. The average fruit set in the "Red Chief" apple was 20%, yield per tree was 99.34 kg, fruit weight was 180.51 g, fruit diameter was 72.29 mm, fruit length was 74.44 mm, soluble solid content was 12.43 and acidity was 0.67 mg/100 mg. Consequently, although the desired results were not obtained in coloration, it was concluded that the "Red Chief" variety was suitable for Apple for Elmalı district.
