The concept of the will-the volition in Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır

In this our study, we have tried to focus on ?The Concept of The Will-The Volition in Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır?. The main aim of our study is to examine how the concepts of the Will and the Volition are understood and focused by Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır. For this purpose, within the scope of our topic we have tried to specify the point of view of the commentary called Hak Dini Kur?an Dili written by him and examined the works of el-Metalib ve?l-Mezahib written by French Paul Janet and Gabriel Sailles according to the procedure of the philosophy of religion and translated into Turkish by Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır who also adds a long preface. Also in the text, the other works on Kalam, we have endeavored to give the place to the evaluations in the form of footnotes. In our thesis, Elmalılı has not differentiated the will and the volition in many parts of the commentary, even used them instead of each other as a thinker belonging to the Mâtürîdî school. However, since he considered the volition of the God as the creativity of Divine Will, he has interpreted it in a different way than Mâtürîdî in some verse commentaries.
