Comparison of Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır and Süleyman Ateş's commentary of Qur'an in terms of Qur'ranic sciences

The Quran is a universal book sent to all mankind and time. For this reason, many studies have been carried out, Works and Sciences have been put forwad to accurately understand, interpret and implement from the day it was revealed to the apocalypse Especially in the Commentary of the Qur'an an the knowledge of the Qur'an, Islamic scholars have been brought thousands of works in to Islamic culture in order to understand and explain the Quran in accordance with the divine, However, the knowledge of the Quran is an important subject in the writing of interpretations of the mufassirs. Because each of these sciences has also been very useful in understanding the verses both in terms of conceptual, context and event. Yüce Kur'ân'ın Çağdaş Tefsiri by Süleyman Ateş, on of the most comprehensive interpretations written recently with the Hak Dini Kur'ân Dili by Elmalılı M. Hamdi Yazır at the beginning of the republic period in our country, are two important interpretation that have stood out among these works. In this study the knowledge of the Qur'an used by two muslims who lived at different times in the modern century in the interpretation of the Quran was discussed in comparison with the interpretations and explanations they made to the relevant verses. The importance of the proclamation of the ulûmü'l Qur'an in terms of understanding the verses was emphasized. As a result of this study, it was determined that both scholars benefited widely from the knowledge of the Qur'an in the interpretation of the verses, but differed as an approach in the sciences discussed from the classical period. Elmalılı has benefited from these sciences in this interpretation with an approach dominated by classical understanding. Ateş, on the other hand, has addressed these sciences with his modern interpratation, which is critical of classical understandig. In this difference, it was effective for both addicts to take into account the needs and developments of their time.
