Abstract (EN)

This study deals with the process of oratory, which is one of the prose genres in Arabic literature, starting from the pre-Sadru'l Islamic Period (m.500) to the end of the Umayyad Period (m.750). Especially in the Umayyad Period, the main purpose of oratory was a political propaganda tool and the reasons for this situation were tried to be explained. In this study, the old sources written in the field of oratory of Arabic literature and the researches made in the modern period were used. In the first part, the oratoring, representatives and examples of sermons of the Age of Ignorance and Sadru'l Islamic Period were given. In the second part, the oratory of the Umayyad Period, its representatives, examples of sermons and the reasons why rhetoric became a political propaganda tool were discussed.
