Abstract (EN)

The study titled 'Women and Family in Emine Işınsu's Novels' was examined in chronological order through seventeen novels written by a female writer, Emine Işınsu. In this way, it is examined how the author's view of the concepts of 'woman' and 'family' differed between 1966 and 2013. The study consists of three main sections except 'Introduction', 'Conclusion' and 'References'. In the 'Introduction' section, information is given about the studies on Emine Işınsu and the author. In the first chapter titled 'Emine Işınsu's Life, Literary Personality and Works', information about the author is given. In the second chapter titled 'Woman and Family', the concepts of 'woman' and 'family' and Women's Movements in the World and in Turkey are emphasized. In the third section titled 'Women and Family in Emine Işınsu's Novels', seventeen novels were evaluated under the headings 'Relations in Family Life', 'Individual Facts and Women' and 'Social Facts and Women'. In the 'Conclusion' section, the changes in the author's view of women and family during his nearly fifty-year writing process are evaluated. The sources used are shown in the 'References' section. The findings obtained as a result of the examinations will provide a better understanding of the image of women and family in the author's novels written between 1966 and 2013 and will serve as a source for future studies. Key Words: Turkish Literature, Emine Işınsu, novel, woman, family.
