Abstract (EN)
The Turkish settlement in Emirdag has become a cradle of the cultures as a result of the Turcoman migration of the many tribes coming from the different directions and it dates back to the period when Anatolia started to be the of the Turk. Music is the leading element of the cultural elements. Emirdag has a rich background in music production and the performance tradition.In addition to having melodic diversity, Emirdag is rich in literal sense concerning ballad lyrics. Many topics such as death, love, military service, getting married, social working life and brigandage are cited on in ballads. As a result of studying 16 ballads which have been assembled from the Abdals living in the region and the other Turcomen. It has been noted that Emirdag bears the musical characters of Aegean and Inner Anatolia region.The best representatives of Emirdag music tradition is the Abdals of Emirdag. Abdals, who came to Anatolia nearly a thousand years ago and gave their names to a Sufi community, continue their existence in small groups in every region of Anatolia as a result of the historical process.The Abdal gropus, in every part of Anatolia today as well as Emirdag Abdals are basically musicians and the most common working field is the regional weddings.The tradition of singing and playing ballads in Emirdag that is a Turcoman region, still persists. In addition to that the production of ballads is one of the folkloric elements that still exists
