Abdals in Emirdağ music tradition and sixteen new folk songs

As a result of studying 16 ballads which have been assembled from the Abdals living in the region and the other Turcomen. It has been noted that Emirdag bears the musical characters of Aegean and Inner Anatolia region.The best representatives of Emirdag music tradition is the Abdals of Emirdag. Abdals, who came to Anatolia nearly a thousand years ago and gave their names to a Sufi community, continue their existence in small groups in every region of Anatolia as a result of the historical process.The Abdal gropus, in every part of Anatolia today as well as Emirdag Abdals are basically musicians and the most common working field is the regional weddings.The tradition of singing and playing ballads in Emirdag that is a Turcoman region, still persists.
