The relation between organizational stress and personality in constabulary

THE RELATION BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONAL STRESS AND PERSONALITY IN CONSTABULARY The purpose of the present study was t examine the relationship between organizational stress management and personality. A total of 250 policemen served as subjects. Of this sample, 49.3% was employed in action force and 50.7% was employed in public security. SPSS 21.0 was used for the data analysis and 95% confidence level was applied. Correlation, t-test, and ANOVA are utilized in the analyses of the variables of the study. Current results have revealed that participants in the action force had higher scores in extraversion, emotional balance and open-mindedness compared to their counterparts in employed in the public security. Male participation rates to emotional balance and being open-minded points. Participants who were 25 years old and below had highest scores on extraversion whereas the participants who are 46 years old and older had highest scores on responsibility, decision, skills usage and social support. Participant between the ages of 36 and 40, on the other hand, had high scores on open-mindedness and workload dimensions. Non-married participants (single, widow, or divorced) had higher scores on extraversion and open-mindedness while married participants were higher in skills usage and decision. In terms of educational level, the ones with B.A. degree and above were higher in open-mindedness while the ones with high school degree and below were high in social support. Participants with college degree were higher in skills usage. Participants who have been working for one year and below were highest on extraversion and responsibility while the ones working for 21 years and above were highest in social support and decision.
