Özet (EN)

Introduction: In this study, serum vitamin D levels of infertile patients with endometriosis and infertile patients without endometriosis were compared in our clinic. In this study, which was carried out to show the relationship between endometriosis and vitamin D, it was tried to show its usefulness as a cost effective treatment because it is important in replacing vitamin D in patients with vitamin D deficiency in the treatment of endometriosis. Clinical Institution: Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Unit. Materials and methods: The study includes women patients who applied to Çukurova University Medical Faculty Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic between 2016-2020. The patients in this study were divided into two groups as infertile women diagnosed with endometriosis and women who applied to the clinic due to non-endometriosis infertility factor. Detailed anamnesis and physical examinations of all patients participating in the study were performed. The primary diagnosis, age, weight, height, smoking habit, age of menstruation, gestational history, type of delivery, duration of infertility, additional diseases, surgical history, educational status and profession were questioned. The data obtained here were encoded and transferred to the computer. Statistical calculations were made and a final report was prepared with the tables. Benefits: In line with the data obtained as a result of our study, the level of vitamin D deficiency and the relationship between endometriosis and vitamin D deficiency will be determined in infertile patients. As a result of the information obtained, patients will be informed about the importance of vitamin D support. Assuming that the additional comorbidities have an effect on infertility and vitamin D deficiency, it is important to determine this situation that will affect the person's health and couples'having children. Results: There was no significant difference in demographic characteristics between study and control group patients. There was no significant difference between the mean AMH serum levels and the mean serum vitamin D levels, but there was a significant difference between the serum vitamin D levels of patients aged 15-25 in both groups. (p < 0.05) Severe vitamin D deficiency was detected in patients aged 15-25 with endometriosis. The smoking habit rate was significantly higher in the group with endometriosis compared to the study group. (p <0.05) In terms of additional disease in the control group, there were more additional diseases than the group with endometriosis, which was found statistically significant. (p <0.05) It was understood that vitamin D was low in endometriosis, which has an important role in female infertility, and vitamin D levels were also low in the infertile patient group. Only 3% of the patients participating in the study were found to have normal serum vitamin D levels. It has been understood that smoking is a risk factor for endometriosis.
