Abstract (EN)
Between the industrial relations climate, which can be either compromising or conflicting, and the employee voice, there is a relationship that differs according to the type. A quantitative research was carried out to identify this relationship. The sampling of the study consisted of employees in two different organizations with different climate types. The study was participated by 226 people form Company A, which was identified to have a compromising industrial relations climate, and 202 people from Company B, which was identified to have conflicting industrial relations climate. The demographic features of both companies were similar, except for one. The feature that differed between the two companies was related to the type of union membership. While the 66 employees in Company A became a union member through their employers, none of the employees in Company B became a union member through their employers. This situation supports the industrial relations climates that exist in companies. In terms of the demographic characteristics of the sampling, the employee voice differed significantly. According to this, the female displayed more employee voice behaviours than the male, the elderly displayed more employee voice behaviours than the young, the married people displayed more employee voice behaviours than the single people and people with higher education levels displayed more employee voice behaviours than those with lower education levels. The correlation analysis, which was performed with the findings obtained from Company A that had a compromising industrial relations climate, concluded that there was a significant, positive and strong relationship between the compromising industrial relations climate and the employee voice. The correlation analysis, which was performed with the findings obtained from Company B that had a conflicting industrial relations climate, concluded that there was a significant, negative and strong relationship between the conflicting industrial relations climate and the employee voice. A regression analysis was performed on the variables, which were identified to be related as a result of the correlation analysis. It was concluded that while the compromising industrial relations climate affected the employee voice positively, the conflicting industrial relations climate affected the employee voice negatively.
