The Levels of relations between burnout levels and some personal variabilities of teachers in industrial vocational high schoolls

In this research, the burnout levels of industrial vocational high schoolteachers have been examined according to their branches, vocational seniority,seniority in school, sex, age, marital status, number of children, and the institutionswhere they have been working.The sampling of the research has been formed by 124 voluntary teacherswho teach in industrial vocational high school in the educational term of 2003-2004in Bolu. The Maslach Burnout Inventory which has been adapted to the conditions inTurkey and a Personal Information Form which has been prepared by the researcherhave been applied to the industrial vocational high school teachers. In the statisticalanalysis of the obtained data t-test analysis and variance analysis have been applied.The findings show that there is no significant difference amongst the burnedlevels of industrial vocational high school teachers according to their branches,vocational seniority, seniority in school, sex, age, marital status, number of children,and the institutions where they have been working. It has been observed thataccording to the institution there is no difference in the dimensions ofdepersonalization and personal accomplishment, but there is a significant differenceat the sub-dimension of emotional exhaustion.It is supposed that the findings of the reseach will help the directory teachersof Vocational and Technical Schools and will contribute to the following studies.Key Words: Burnout, Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization, PersonalAccomplishment, Teacher.
