Abstract (EN)
This research is done for the purpose of determining the effects of students? preparing project homework related to their department on their attitudes and on academic success in the History of Turkish Republic Revolution and Atatürkism lesson in Vocational Schools (Nevşehir example).In this work experimental method was used. The research was applied to the 11th grade students of Engine Deparment of Nevşehir Vocational School in the second semester of 2006-2007 academic year. The research was performed on unbiasedly seleceted two groups one of which is experiment group (n=20) and the other one of which is control group (n=20).Before the defined research work, a pre-test was applied to the students of Furniture Department and Engine Department in order to measure their attitudes. In History of Turkish Republic Revolution and Atatürkism lesson a project homework on Ataturk?s Cars exhibited in Anıtkabir (Ataturk?s Mausoleum) was assigned to the students of Engine Department belonging to experiment group, on the other hand no homework was given to the students of Furniture Department constituting the control group and teaching activities fort his group were carried out as before. During this practice lasted 10 weeks, some questions were directed to the students of experiment group in every lesson, moreover some interviews with the students were also made outside the class. At the end of the practice, final attitude scale was administered.In the analysis of acquired data, SPSS program was used and arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t test were carried out. The obtained results were limited with the prcatised groups.The results of this work were given in the Results and Comments section of this thesis.Keywords: Vocational School, Turkish Republic Revolution History and Ataturkism Lesson, Project Homework.
