Problems met in the adaptation to industry of the technologies in the vocational industry higt-schools and the role of the administrators.

The importance of the vocational technical high-schools, training the techical manpower of the society and consequently the importance of vocational educations, is pronounced in every occasion. For these secondary educational institutions which train the technical people who are very important for the economical development, it is vital that they keep themselves up to the contemporany technologies, so that highly-quahified graduates from them. The schools, which cannot follow the new technologies owing to their limited economical sources, are expected to overcome this deficiency by cooperating with the industry. In this respect, important responsibilities are incumbent on the school administrators.It is the objective of this research to determine the problems which arise in the adaptation of the technologies in the vocational high-schools to industry and the role of the administrators in reference to various parameters. For this purpase, we collected data from 338 teachers and administrators randomly chosen from the vocational high-schools in the districts Beykoz, Eminönü, Kadıköy, Kartal, Ümraniye and Üsküdar. In order to collect the data inquieries prepared by the researchers. The collected data have been analysed by the statistical software SPSS.On examining the findings, we obtained significant differences depending on all the parameters (sex, function in the school, age, seniority, specialization, place of apprenticeship, number of pupils in the school, number of teachers in the school). In general, teachers expressed that there are problems in the adaptation of the school technologies to the industry and that duties are incumbent on the administrators.
