Abstract (EN)
It is well known that the utilization of many industrial structures has come to an end over time, and these structures have become derelict in the present day. Although these types of buildings were originally constructed on the outskirts of cities, they have integrated into urban centers with the growth of the cities. Repurposing these derelict industrial structures located within the city provides significant advantages for both urban residents and users. Firstly, the architectural scale of factory buildings is well-suited for human habitation. Therefore, adopting a university function is suitable for both the structures and the city. Furthermore, preserving the spatial characteristics of these buildings in the collective memory while sustaining their historical and cultural values is of paramount importance. In recent years, there has been a growing interest and awareness worldwide in preserving the architectural and landscape features of many abandoned industrial structures. In this context, this research examines the transformation of derelict industrial structures located within the city into university campuses.
