Abstract (EN)
Recently, biomass energy has come to the forefront as an important alternative to fossil fuels. Biomass energy feedstocks are applied to generate energy using different processes. In this regard, carbonization, and pyrolysis are the thermochemical conversion processes that thermally degrade biomass in the inert atmosphere into solids and non-condensate gases. In thıs study, the carbonization of biowaste (shaved leather) from leather industry was performed at 300oC. Thermogravimetric (TG) properties of products obtained were determined. In so doing, TG analysis of the samples was conducted using the heating rates of 20oC/min, 30oC/min and 40oC/min. Kinetic reaction parameters were computed using the Coats-Redfern and Broido methods. Estimated kinetic parameters were found to be primarily dependent on temperature regime. The carbonization of shaved leather wastes improved its fuel performance for energy generation.
