Abstract (EN)

It is easily observed that the most significant change since the existence of humanity is development. Ceramic is also a material that continues its development simultaneously with humanity in terms of technical and conceptual aspects. In this context, plaster mold in the field of ceramics is a material that offers effective and new methods to produce both serial products in the industry and original works of art. Molds made of different materials such as stone, wood, and bone to roughly shape and decorate ceramics have begun to provide a wide range of possibilities to the field of ceramics with technical developments. In this way, ceramic has become a more original and mass-produced material. The gypsum obtained by firing and pulverizing gypsum began to be used in mold making and has become the most preferred mold material in the field of ceramics over time. Plaster molds, which offer various techniques, were frequently used in the field of ceramics, so they became a material that attracted the attention of ceramic artists. In recent years, the search for alternative molds and techniques has led to the reconsideration of plaster molds as well as molds from different materials, thus revealing new application forms. In the first part of this study, which consists of four chapters, the function of gypsum is examined with its historical process and diversity. In the second part of the study, molds and their varieties in the field of ceramics are examined under subtitles. In the third chapter, the use of plaster molds of contemporary ceramic artists, over the application and works are examined. The last part of the study was concluded with personal applications.
