Comparison of structural systems in industrial building using AHP, TOPSIS and ELECTRE multi criteria decision making methods

Countries, attach great importance to the industry in order to develop their economy and provide employment. For this reason, there are organized industrial zones established and continuing to be established in all cities in our country. The person who will invest in the organized industrial zones should make a choice about the structural system of the in industrial structure. Since the selection to be made consists of many criteria, the selection of the decision maker manager becomes difficult. Multi criteria decision making techniques have emerged to facilitate selection problems. In this study, respectively were used AHP, TOPSIS and ELECTRE methods. The choice of the structural system of industrial buildings among three alternatives is discussed. Three main criteria and twelve sub criteria related to the main criteria were used in the analysis. All criteria and alternatives used have been created by taking the opinions of experts and contractors. Duration and cost, structural system constraints and city setup main criteria were used in the selection problem. In the result of the analysis obtained, the first row took the same alternatives in all three methods. The ranking results of AHP and TOPSIS methods were the same. In the ELECTRE method, the second and third alternative order has changed compared to other methods. Today, it is understood that multi criteria decision making techniques used in all sectors can also be used in the problem of making structural system comparisons in industrial structures.
