An analysis from the perspective of energy geography: The importance of renewable energy resources for 2023 Turkey's energy vision

Mankind has needed energy since its existence in order to meet its basic needs. This need is increasing day by day in direct proportion to the social and economic dynamics of the countries. In this context, in order to meet the increasing energy need and to be among the developed countries, energy policies in our country should be constantly updated and alternative energy sources should be utilized at the maximum level. It is obvious that fossil energy sources are finite and they are exhaustible. However, alternative energy sources have the ability to turn this situation into an advantage. Although there is an endless trend towards clean, economical and easily accessible energy sources in developed countries, different alternative energy sources are still sought. These countries have realized the importance of energy and have started to search for resources in this sense. The importance of alternative energy sources in our country has been understood and many new investments are made in this field. Our country aims to minimize foreign dependency in energy in 2023, when the 100th Anniversary of the Republic will be celebrated, and determines its energy policies in this sense. In addition to renewable energy resources, Turkey also operates in many fields in the blue homeland, especially with TPAO initiatives, for the exploration and extraction of energy resources, especially oil and natural gas. In addition to all these, Turkey, due to its strategic location, is signing new agreements and partnerships in the field of energy with countries such as the Russian Federation, Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. This is a natural and compulsory policy of our country. Our country acts as a bridge between Europe and many energy fields. It is Turkey's most natural right and need to turn this situation into an advantage.
