Abstract (EN)

Providing a balanced development for the cities located in various geographic regions of our country is possible with the application of an efficient development policy throughout the country. In order to create a healthy energy policy throughout the country, it is essential to know the measurable and comparable energy production and consumption situations of the cities and the regions. In energy sector, in order the sub-systems to have developed in a complementary structure, instead of the unplanned, independent, short ? term solutions, the existing capacity and the needs must be determined, the investments must be directed in line with the capacity and a balanced distribution throughout the country must be provided. The main reason for this study, based on the existing administrative structure of Turkey, and by using the selected social and economical indicators which reflect the development and also the indicators reflecting the energy structures of the 81 cities, is to reveal the energy structure of Turkey by revealing the relations between the energy structures of the cities, by defining the similar city groups based on the energy production and consumption, by determining the cities differentiating from each other, and by listing the cities based on their usage of energy.
