Methods for resolving disputes within the framework of the Energy Charter Treaty

The purpose of this study is to investigate and evaluate the resolution methods of investment, trade, transit, environment and competition disputes within the framework of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT). Firstly, we will look at the scope, objectives and institutional structure of the Treaty after tracing its historical development. Afterwards, we will examine arbitration, which is one of the preferred resolution methods in both national and international disputes, and proceed to arbitration agreements, arbitration committees, trial procedures and institutional arbitrations. Finally, we will examine the resolution methods envisaged by the Treaty by addressing the disputes within the framework of the ECT one by one.
