The aim of this study is to develop the scale of the marriage attitudes towards the disabled people and to study its validity and reliability. This study has been carried out with (veya ON) four hundred individuals from 19 different cities. In this study, firstly, taking the problematic situations and literature into consideration, a five Likert type form consisting of 24 items has been created. Utilizing this form, with face-to-face interview method, a 10-person group and some specialists have been asked to give their opinions. In parallel with the interviews, a 32 item five Likert type item tool including 16 positive and 16 negative explanations has been drawn up. The formed scale has been administered to 405 adult individuals. Explanatory factor analysis has been carried out on the obtained data and because of the fact that it is appropriate to serve both factor loads and the aim of the scale, the last version of it comprising of 3 sub-scales and 24 items has been determined. In the consequence of this performed explanatory factor analysis, it has been observed that these factors explain 45.70 % of the whole variance. The factor structure, internal consistency, similar scale similarity and test-retest reliability controls have been carried out from the point of both in general and in sub-scales of the assessment instrument. Cronbach Alpha values for scale in general, mate-selection sub-scale, parenthood and social environment sub-scale, functionality and acceptance sub-scale have been determined 0.91, 0.94, 0.86 and 0.86 respectively.. In the light of the obtained data, the scale of the marriage attitudes towards the disabled people has been found significantly powerful and the use of it in the related studies has been suggested.
