Abstract (EN)

The aims of this study are to encapsulate D-Limonene with liposome and cyclodextrin inclusion methods, to characterize active feature of their enriched hutpak and filter papers, and to measure their antimicrobial activity. In the assay enriched papers were coated according the dipping method. They are dipped in free limonene solution (75% v/v), in liposome solution of encapsulated limonene, and in 25% HPβSD (2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin) or βSD (beta-cyclodextrin) inclusion complex solutions. The paper samples were stored at 4 °C and 25 °C, and the amount of D-Limonene remaining in the papers on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 15th and 30th days and the antifungal properties of the papers against Penicillium expansum and Penicillium digitatum were determined. The effects of the production methods on the physical properties of the papers were determined by tensile test and color analysis. The remaining limonene amount in the papers with time was found higher in the papers coated with βSD. The limonene content in the papers coated with βSD were found 22.08 µg/cm2 and 47.31 µg/cm2 for hutpak and filter paper sample respectively at the end of the 30th day. According to the disk diffusion analysis, an antimicrobial effect was seen only during the first 5 days of storage for the HPβSD coated papers
