Abstract (EN)
The common take on art nowadays, in contrast to modernism – and prior understandings of art – is in more cooperation with other sciences than ever. Whether it is social sciences or STEM; this correlation plays a significant role in modern art. The undeniable reality showcases the importance of interdisciplinary works of art. In the past two decades, the way physics interprets our universe and us has shifted drastically. Making its way to philosophy and social sciences, this new vantage point is rewriting notions like death, existence and creation itself from scratch. As a result, art forms have not been able to escape the heat of such changes and took their place in the arguments. Often described as the slow process of the corrosion of the universe, 'Entropy' is the most noteworthy among all that it is there to debate. In the first part of this effort, it has been attempted to address subjects such as Entropy, Time, Quantum, Order and Disorder from a scientific point of view. In the second part, Negentropy – the opposite of Entropy – has been framed to help explain culture and art, and with visual support of various artworks from recent years which is examined accordingly throughout the process. In the last part, more artwork is presented relating to each discussed concept in previous chapters. Despite the resemblance between my artworks included in this thesis and common abstract expressionism, it has to be stated that they are conceptually different. This differentiation is caused by the fact that Entropy has been chosen as the main focus in this project. True reasons behind repetitions happening toward evanesce in the artworks are stated clearly. Modern physics acting as a source of motivation and reference, is tightly registered in this document and is connected deeply with various concepts.
