Abstract (EN)

In this study, blood samples taken from 30 volunteer patients diagnosed with epilepsy between the ages of 18-65 and 30 volunteer healthy individuals who applied to Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Medicine Dursun Odabaş Medical Center Department of Neurology; Average values of glutathione s-transferase (GST), prolidase (PRO), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutathione reductase (GR), ceruloplasmin, vitamin B12, vitamin D (25-hydroxy D3), valproic acid and carbamazepine levels were found, It was aimed to evaluate the difference with healthy controls and to associate these parameters with the etiopathogenesis and prognosis of the disease. In the findings obtained as a result of the research; There were both statistically significant and insignificant ones. In this study; While the difference between the patient and control group averages was not statistically significant for ceruloplasmin and vitamin D, it was statistically significant for valproic acid, carbamazepine, B12, prolidase, GR, GST and GSHPx (p<0.05). Accordingly, B12, GR, GST and GSH-Px were found to be low in the patient group, while valproic acid, carbamazepine, and prolidase were found to be high. As a result, prolidase, glutathione s-transferase (GST), prolidase (PRO), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutathione reductase (GR), ceruloplasmin, vitamin B12, vitamin D (25-hydroxy D3), valproic acid and carbamazepine parameters. may play an important role in the etiopathogenesis and prognosis of epilepsy.
