This work; performed between March 2017 and June 2017 with the patients who applied to the norology policinics of state hospitals; in order to investigate compliance with drug treatment of epilepsy patients and factors affecting the treatment. 325 epileptic patients were included in the study as a result of power analysis that defined the. All patients who were over 18 years old, able to communicate, agreed to participate in the study, followed up with epilepsy, receiving antiepileptic treatment, and who had no psychiatric problems were included in the study. The questionnaire based on literature knowledge and Morisky compliance scale were used as data collection tools. Pearson Chi-square and Fisher Exact tests were used to evaluate the data obtained from the study. It was found that 58.2% of the patients were male, 28.5% were university graduates, 32.3% were unemployed, 47.7% had more than 10 years of disease, 40.6% had single medication, 82.5% went to regular checkup and 59.7% was determined that the frequency of seizures was less than once a month. It was determined that 27,7% of the patients' adaptation to the treatment was high, 58,5% was medium and 13,8% were low level of treatment. It was determined that the age, gender, education, occupation, place of living and economic situation of the patients affected the level of compliance with the treatment. In addition, the duration of the illness, taking information about the disease, using a method other than medical treatment, going to the check-ups, knowing the name and number of the antiepileptic drug used, getting information about the drug, kinds of attempts when there is a problem with the drug, measuring the drug level and number of seizures during the last one year; all was found to be significant to the level of compliance with the treatment. In the light of these results, it can be suggested to make attempts to eliminate the negativities by analyzing the compliance levels of the patients and the affecting factors.
