Epoksi rezin ve biyoseramik esaslı kanal patlarının kök kanalından sökülebilirilklerinin ve bağlanma dayanımının incelenmesi

The purpose of endodontic treatment is to prevent and heal the apical periodontitis. The success rate of root canal treatment has been found between 93-84% in the studies. According to this; even when root canal treatment performed under ideal conditions, post-treatment disease may occur. Iatrogenic errors during procedure, leakage of the coronal restoration or persistent infections can cause post-treatment disease. When post-treatment disease occurs, the infected root canal filling must be easily removed from the root canal in order to re-disinfect the root canal cavity. In this study, it was aimed to investigate retreatability and bond strength of epoxy resin based AH Plus (Dentsply Mallefier, USA, Oklahoma), calcium silicate based TotalFill BC Sealer (FKG Dentaire, Switzerland) and CeraSeal (Meta-Biomed, South Korea) canal sealers, when applied with lateral condensation and single cone methods. This study was performed on 66 extracted, single rooted, human mandibular premolars. All samples were separated from their crowns under water cooling by using a diamond separator and their root length was adjusted to 16 mm. All samples were instrumented with Protaper Next files and then randomly separated into 6 groups that contains 11 samples each. Groups were varied among the root canal sealer used and obturation techniques. Group (BC-L): TotalFill BC Sealer + Lateral Condensation, Group (BC-S): TotalFill BC Sealer + Single Cone, Group (Cera-L): CeraSeal + Lateral Condensation, Group (Cera-S): CeraSeal + Single Cone, Group (AH-L): AH Plus + Lateral Condensation, Group (AH-S): AH Plus + Single Cone. After obturation of root canals, all samples were scanned with Micro-CT device SkyScan 1172 and root canal filling volume per sample were measured. Then root canal fillings were removed with Protaper Universal Retreatment Files and the duration of the procedure was recorded in seconds, re-establishing apical patency were evaluated for each sample. Then second Micro-CT scanning were performed in order to measure residual root canal filling volumes of all samples. All teeth were re-obturated according to the group in which they were found. As final step, each sample was divided into 3 equal parts with a diamond disk and push out force applied with instron device. Finally bond strength values were measured. Statistical analyzes were performed with NCSS (Number Cruncher Statistical System) 2007 Statistical Software (Utah, USA) package program. The results were evaluated at the significance level of p<0.05. The duration of retreatment procedure (root canal filling removal only) was longer in Group (BC-L) than in Group (BC-S) (p=0,011). The duration of retreatment procedure (root canal filling removal only) was longer in Group (AH-L) than in Group (AH-S) (p=0,001). Group (BC-S) and Group (Cera-S) showed lower residual root canal filling volume than Group (AH-S) (p=0,003, p=0,011). There was no statistically significant difference between Group (BC-S) and Group (Cera-S) in terms of residual root canal filling volume. (p=0,412) There were no statistically significant difference between any groups in terms of re-establishing apical patency. Bond strength of Group (BC-L) was higher than in Group (BC-S) (p=0,0001) and bond strength of Group (AH-L) was higher than in Group (AH-S) (p=0,0001).
