Abstract (EN)

Erdogan Alkan is a person who has produced works in genres such as poetry, novels, essays and translations in Turkish literature of the Republic period. There has been no study made so far about Alkan who stands out especially with his poet and translator identity. In this regard, the aim of this thesis is to make a comprehensive analysis of Alkan's life and to present his art and works as a poet, writer and translator by referring to basic sources. To examine his poems in terms of content, form, language and style. Trying to determine his understanding of poetry based on the literary movements of the period in which he lived and to determine the aspects of his life that are reflected in his art. On the other hand, the aim of this thesis is to determine the themes that Alkan frequently uses in his poetry and to examine the way these themes are handled. At the same time, it is to examine Alkan's poetry books, novels, memoirs and screenplays and to present his translation books and other research-analysis works in chronological order, to show the magazines and newspapers in which his works were published in a list. Thus, to reveal the general characteristics of Erdogan Alkan's art and to try to determine its place and importance in Turkish literature.
