Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to reveal the socio-cultural and economic structure of the aforementioned neighborhoods by using the Temettuat Register, which was recorded in 1844-1845, belonging to the Ereğli District, Beğden derbendi neighborhoods. For this reason, the scope of the research in question is not limited to the Temettuat Register of the Beğden district of the Ereğli District, and information is given about the history, geographical location, climate and vegetation of the Ereğli district, as well as the pre-Tanzimat and Tanzimat period tax system of the Ottoman Empire and the process of keeping the temettuat registers. This study started with the transcription of the Temettuat Notebook, which was derbent from Beğden of Ereğli District. Afterwards, literature review on temettuat notebooks was made and the evaluated sources were determined. After the relevant sources were read, the thesis was started to be studied. Attention was paid to the fact that the sources used were important and well-known names who were the pioneers of this field. Efforts were made to support the study with similar theses. The important results achieved in the study were as follows: It is seen that animal husbandry activities in Ereğli District, Beğden derbendi are intensely carried out and besides this, agricultural activities are also carried out, albeit a little. Income and livestock decline to a significant extent for each household. There is no non-Muslim resident in the village. To summarize, the socio-economic structure of the neighborhoods in the Notebook According to the Notebook dated 1844-1845, it is a typical 19th century Ottoman settlement with all its inhabitants Muslim and dominated by the "neighborhood economy".
