The purpose of this study is to examine the effect or irrational beliefs, fear of failure, self-esteem and academic motivation variables on academic procrastination. The study is a correlational study based on a procedure that aims to reveal the change in two or more variables. The working group consists of a total of 648 students actively enrolled in high school education in Erzincan province during the 2024-2025 academic year, comprising 359 female students (55,4%) and 289 male students (44,6%). The Personal Information Form, Academic Procrastination Scale, Irrational Beliefs Scale Adolescent Form, Self-Perception Scale for Adolescents, Performance Failure Evaluation Inventory and Academic Motivation Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. Hiererchical Regression analysis was used in the analysis of the collected data. According to the results obtained, irrational beliefs, self-esteem, fear of failure and academic motivation variables are significant predictors of adolescents' academic procrastination behavior. Among these variables, the strongest predictor is academic motivation. The variables examined in the study explained 46% of adolescents' academic procrastination behavior. The results of this study indicate that cognitive and affective enterventions that can be developed may be effective in preventing academic prograstination behavior in adolescents.
