Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to designate if parents attitudes have an effect on the anxiety and depression levels of the adolescents. In line with this target, a questionnaire which is developed by using, parents attitude scale, state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI FORM TX-I and STAI FORM TX-II) and Beck Depression Scale, is implemented to the high school students continuing the ireducation in İstanbul, Bayrampaşa. By the findings of this questionnaire, it is tried to analyze if parents attitudes are effective on adolescents' anxiety and depression levels. The three sub-dimension of the parents attitudes scaleare; democratic parent attitude, authoritative parents attitude and protector parents attitude. The Beck depression scale which is used in this study approaches the depression of adolescents with two factors. This scale has got 21 questions and the answers given to these questions gives the level of depression of the attendant. As a result of this study, the parents' attitudes and depression level of the adolescents have a significant relationship.
