Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to study the situations ın which adolescents are cyber bully or victims of it in respect of shyness or some demographic variables. The model of decriptive research is used in this study. The population of the research is formed by the high schools in Malatya. Sampling of the research covers 909 students in total who attended the 9th, 10th and 11th grades at high schools between 2009 and 2010. 491 of whom were girls and 418 of whom were boys. During collecting data, the inventory of cyber bullying the scale of shyness and the personal information forms were used. To analyze the data, SPSS-17 was used and for independent grups, t-test, one way variant analysis, simple-dual regression and scheffe multiple comparisons and for categorical variables Chi-Square test were used. In all analysis, 95% reliance interval was adopted.At the end of the research, it has been found that 6,6 % of the students are cyber-bully, 6,4 % are victims of cyber bullying and 6,2 % are both cyber bully/victims.Male students were significantly cyberbullies and victims than female students. The higher the monthly income and the longer they use the internet, the more likely they be come victims of cyber bullying. İt has been found that the duration of the use of mobile phones is just a significantly connected variable. The more the underlanding of students for the proficiency for their we of computer or internet use, the more they have a tendency to be a cyber victim or a bully.she students are significantly less involved in the cyber-bullying but it has been found out that there's no relationship between shyness and being has a victim of cyber-bullying and the shyness has regressed the cyber-bullying negatively.İt has been found that girls are more shy than boys and the higher the montly income and the educational level of parents, the less the level of shyness.İt has been also found that the students with higher shyness score use dramatically less mobile phone and internet.
