Abstract (EN)
In this study, the role of mindfulness levels and psychological needs of adolescents in predicting social media disorder levels were investigated. The sample consisted of 187 female and 322 male high school students. In order to collect data in the research, "Personal Information Form", "Social Media Disorder Scale (SMBÖ)", "Mindfulness Scale for Adolescents" and "Psychological Need Satisfaction Scale" were used. The total variance explanation level of the variables was 26.1%. As mindfulness scores of adolescents increase, it is seen that social media disorder scores decrease. It was concluded that as the satisfaction with the need for competence increases the social media disorder scores of adolescents decrease and as the need to be related increases the social media disorder scores increases. There was no significant relationship between the need for autonomy and social media disorder. Keywords: Adolescence, social Media Disorder, mindfulness, basic psychological needs, needs satisfaction
