Abstract (EN)

Communication is an ongoing fact since the beginning of humanity. People have used different ways to communicate. Today, by being convenient and easy to reach, internet is the most widely used communication tool of all. Day by day with the increasing usage of the Internet, new communication technologies have become available and widespread. Social media is one of those widely used communication tools. From all ages and from both sexes there are social media users from all around the world. Social media is also very popular among teenagers. In this thesis, studied to reveal the relationship between personality development and formation with social media behaviours on the individuals who are on their adolescence period which is expressed as the most important period of personal development. On the first part of this thesis, a theoretical framework drawn and general informations given about the adolescence, social media and personality development. Second part of the thesis covers the research about the analysis and the findings of a survey study among 14 and 18 years old teenagers to explore the impact of social media to personal development of adolescents.
