The critical approach to Turkish translation of Erich Kaestner's novel which name is ?Das Fliegende Klassenzimmer"

Translation begins people?s using the language in communication. The translation which has got a very much importance for the development of human beings and civilization has always been in the front row at the intercultural communication. Translation, as it was in the past, is a great requirement at present, too, and it continuously develops. However, in the progression of translation, the way that the translation follows will indicate his / her understanding of translation.In this study, at comparative solution of the source and target texts of the child novels named ?Das Fliegende Klassenzimmer? by Erich Kästner, who is one of the German Child Literature writers, it has been tried to determine the translator?s artistic language choices, which of the translation methods he uses that are target language or resource language focused, and to find out the attitudes and choices that he appropriates to perform his objective.In the introduction part of this study, it is mentioned about a general opinion about the science of translation, the translation of literature, the problems of translation at translating literature, and the understanding of translation criticism in the light of equivalence and our current translation theories. The second part of the study consists of Erich Kästner, who is one of the German Child Literature writers, his work ?Das Fliegende Klassenzimmer?, and the general information about ?Realistic Child Literature? the leadership of which he performs. In the third part of the study, it is considered as the criticism of this work for its Turkish translation, and it has been tried to find out the methods and techniques that the translator used in the progression of translation. Finally, the fourth part of this study is the part of conclusion, and it is something like the evaluation of the analyzed text.
