Özet (EN)

In this thesis titled "The Effect of Y2O3 Layer on Activation Energy in Y358 Superconductor Produced Using Melt-Powder-Melt-Growth (MPMG) Method", the newest member of YBCO family, "Y3Ba5Cu8O18 (Y358)" superconductor was produced using MPMG method. First of all, the appropriate heat treatment scheme for the grain growth process was determined. For this, the melting temperature of the melted starting powders was found. Three samples were produced with maximum grain growth temperature melting temperature, 10°C below and above the melting temperature. After examining the structural and magnetic properties of the produced samples, the best production temperature was determined. Then, the main aim of the thesis was to put the Y2O3 compound under the produced samples and its effect on the structural and magnetic properties was examined. Three more samples were produced in this way. While nothing was placed under one of them, Y2O3 compound was placed under one of them in powder form and under the other in tablet form. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the Y2O3 compound improved the magnetic and physical properties. It was observed that this improvement was more in Y2O3 put in powder form.
