Abstract (EN)

This study aims to identify commonly used sentence patterns in daily lives of preschool children across settings such as school, home and social environment. The study seeks to develop a qualified and rich content for supplementary materials. The research was conducted using a phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research approaches. For this purpose, 1,727 sentence patterns identified as being used in schools, homes, and social environments were submitted to expert opinion and evaluated based on necessity and difficulty criteria. The study involved two distinct working groups. The first group consisted of 15 foreign language teachers teaching in private preschools and 15 preschool teachers from public kindergartens under the Ministry of National Education. The second group included 39 academics specializing in preschool education, educational sciences, and foreign language education. Data were collected using the Sentence Appropriateness Form (SAF) developed by the researcher. The data were analyzed through Frequency Analysis, Fleiss' Kappa Agreement Analysis, and the Lawshe Formula. According to the research results, 155 phrases that were determined as unnecessary or of low importance by experts were removed from the content. Recommendations were made for the remaining 1572 phrases to provide qualified content for the materials to be created.
