Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of early maladaptive schemes and psychological symptoms on ruminative thinking style.Early maladaptive schemas are mental concepts that develop in childhood and adolescence, continue in a complex state throughout life, consisting of emotion, cognition, memories and physical senses, and occur in interpersonal relationships (Young, 1994).Psychopathology cannot be considered separately from the spiritual structure. Traumatic experiences in the early stages of development are eliminated by repression from consciousness, and these can no longer be called from consciousness anymore. These experiences, which are pushed into the background by suppression, which is a vital defense mechanism, do not heal and cannot be processed if they cause severe mental injuries. Suppressed traumas retain their effects and may occur as a mental disorder in another form and at another time. These suppressed traumatic experiences retain their dynamic powers and effects, and then they may appear in other forms as symptoms of mental illness. The real cause, that is, the initial mental injury cannot be brought into consciousness, cannot be remembered. Perceived by consciousness is only the distress caused by the symptom (Freud, 1953). In the literature, the relationship between schemas and various psychopathologies has been discussed extensively and theoretically. The concept of rumination refers to repetitive thinking in general (Rippere, 1977). Studies emphasize the relationship between ruminative thinking and depression. Ruminative thinking style; It involves repetitive thinking on depressive mood and its causes, and this causes an increase in negative mood and depressive symptoms in a vicious circle. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of early discordant schemes in the relationship between ruminative thinking and psychological symptoms. In this context, the contents of the prominent schemes, their features and their reflections on the patterns of thought and behavior in adulthood will be discussed in depth. The research is a study in relational screening model. The procedure to be followed in this research will be conducted through a literature review and a comprehensive research on the subject will be conducted and all information will be collected. To collect data, participants will use the Ruminative Thinking Style Scale (RDBÖ), the Young Schema Scale Short Form (YAS-3) and the Short Symptom Inventory (BSI). The sample of the study will be selected from university students according to random sampling method and will consist of volunteer individuals. The variables to be obtained will be analyzed in SPSS by applying correlation analysis. The effect of early maladaptive schemes in the relationship between ruminative thinking and psychological symptoms will be examined. The data obtained will be analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program. Statistical investigations and interpretations; p <.05 will be evaluated according to the level of significance.
