Abstract (EN)
Schema refers to the meanings that a person stereotypes his/her experiences in the face of many complex situations in daily life. Deprivation of basic needs of the person in the early period, maladaptive schemas may occur. The marriage process, which has an important place in people's lives, is also affected by maladaptive schemas. The family, which is the most important unit of society, starts with marriage and a healthy and happy marriage can only be achieved with harmony. This research will examine the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital adjustment in married individuals. marital adjustment. The relationship between gender, age at marriage, education level, being large or small in the city they live in, duration of marriage, duration of acquaintance before marriage, number of children and income level were examined. The research sample; It was applied to 367 married people living in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Kütahya, Tokat and Amasya. To collect research data; In the study, "Demographic Information Form" was used to obtain the personal information of the participants, "Young Schema Scale Short Form-3 (YŞS-SF3)" was used to detect early maladaptive schemas, and "Marriage Adjustment Scale" was used to determine marital adjustment. The " Interpersonal Relationship Style Scale'' was used to determine the interpersonal relationship style. According to the findings obtained after the analyzes made, the nurturing style in the interpersonal relationship style; Injured boundaries predicted schema domain, other-directedness, and hyperarousal and suppression.
