Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this thesis is to compile a comperative analysis of a selected set of printed materials on adolescent guitar training and thereby contribute to method authors and guitar trainers with the findings of the research. The method books that are included in this research has been choosen after a thorough review of existing literature on the subject matter. Sampling for the research was based on six guitar instruction books, which consisted of three domestic and three international samples. Those books were reviewed with respect to respective physical attributes, preface and descriptions, visual aids, content (exercise-song, theorical and technical elements); results of review were demonstrated by means of frequency and percentile tables. The method books included in this research have been categorically classified. Even though the results do not explicitly indicate a standardized approach in physical attributes, preface and descriptions, visual aids, content (exercise-song, theorical and technical elements), when we consider physical attributes and contents of the books they demonstrate common traits in fulfilling basic principles of musical training and development particularities for kids in ages between 6-9. However, none of the books was appropriate for adoloscent guitar training with respect to our research metrics. As a consequence of aforementioned results, we conclude our thesis with a comprehensive a list of guidelines for method books for adolescent guitar training. Keywords: Adolescent Guitar Training, Guitar Method Books.
