According to Armenian sources and travelogues Mongols of genghis cultural structure

In this dissertation cultural facts behind of the political and military success of Mongols which was resulted an immense invasion movement which is almost unique in the world history is tried to be presented. Thus the Mongol invasion could be analyzed in a healthier aspect. In addition the changes in Mongols' cultural lives during the period of Genghis Khan and his children is also tried to be determined. In study based on the most important source so called The Secret History of Mongols, the Armenian sources and travelogues, the cultural structure of Mongols during Genghis Khan and his children's period were examined. In order to reveal the domination of Mongols during Genghis Khan period and the latter in every aspect, Mongols' social, economic, cultural, administrative and military structure were examined by using the sources which shed light on this matter. After summarizing Mongol political history briefly in the introduction part of the study, travelogues, Armenian sources and the others were mentioned. Inside of the Mongol social life, an extensive information space were reserved about religion and law. Additionally, the Mongolion, appearance, characteristics, family and the institution of marriage, clan-tribe organization and daily life were discussed about the social life. About the economic life, hunting as an element of the nomadic life and the importance of the Mongolian horse in daily life and war time were escpecially focused on. It has also tried to determine the commercial life of the Mongols and the taxation system. Within the framework of the material culture issues Mongolian tents and eating culture became the subjects that were examined mostly. Here also the subjects on the Mongolian costumes, customs, hygiene culture, illnesses and the treatments, leisure and sports activities were examined. The selection of khan in the administrative and the military structure and the congress affecting to it, the importance of the officers within the state bureaucracy, information about diplomacy, the functioning of the postal service and the Mongolian army organization were all discussed. At the conclusion of an overall assessment is made of all this information. By examining the Mongolian cultural structure, cultural factors that lie behind the success of the Mongolian invasion movement in a short period of time were determined and evaluated.
