Abstract (EN)
Pigeon breeding is one of the elements that have the capacity to carry itself to the future in Anatolian Turkish folk culture. Clustered beliefs, beliefs and practices in this lifestyle, which these people, who are called bridal among the people, continue with both learning and methods and techniques inherited from their ancestors, are discussed in Turkish culture, accompanied by the cultural and religious infrastructure regarding the view of the pigeon in general. In our study, which is shaped around the topics such as the pigeon species fed in Erzurum, sheltering and protection of these species, combating various diseases seen in both pigeons and birdhouses, the context formed around pigeon breeding, the future of bird keeping due to urbanization, the data obtained by using face-to-face interview technique on the axis of fieldwork methodology. has also been used.
